Praise from Past Participants

Great program for busy professionals!

Traci Thompson, PharmD, BCPS

I have always wanted to participate in one of PLEI’s leadership courses, but never had the opportunity. This one was perfect for my busy life. The course allows self-paced learning between each session. The one-on-one sharing is great to break down your barriers and really apply the information to your life. I highly recommend this course and can’t wait for another chance to participate!

Life changing!

Jenny L. Doughty

I think this course offers great insight into leadership and thought provoking concepts. If you come with an open mind and are willing to be introspective and reflective on your actions and thoughts, this course can be life changing.

Got me to the next level!

Erica Mabry, PharmD

This course has helped me to take my professional and personal leadership to the next level; I was able to learn more about myself through this course and connect with others who have mentored me into becoming a better leader.

More Please!

Andrea Bourque

Thank you for a truly fulfilling experience. Can't wait for you all to develop the next course! I want more!

Got me back on track!

Anonymous

The one thing that was most helpful to me was taking the time to assess my personal values, interests, strengths and needs - I seemed to have gotten off-course and taking on too much that really wasn't in line with my goals. Taking the time to reflect has helped me reprioritize and focus on the things that will help me achieve my goals

A Great Investment!

Ouita D. Gatton

It will change your life...and isn't your life worth an investment?

Pushed me beyond my comfort zone

Anonymous

It will take you out of your comfort zone in a good way. It helps you to think outside of the way you normally do, and helps you become a better leader by looking back at your previous self and experiences to become better through reflection.

Great Class!

Jerry Follow up, PharmD, ACC

Even though the base curriculum was established many years ago, the ongoing revisions and new wrinkles they add have helped me each time I review the material. I know how much it helped my leadership effectiveness as a leader, and I hope others will experience the same transformation!

Highly Recommended!

Julie Green

As a veteran alum who has had the privilege and delight of attending many Grand Councils but has yet to experience a full LDS….I have no perfect words! I have learned so much from this course!! I have known some of the participants in my pod for many years, some I just met and I feel so much closer to all of them, so empowered, so inspired, so challenged to grow my leadership skills!! Watching this video and thinking about our last session, feels so similar to the last day of GC when you say goodbye for now to new and old Brothers. It’s bittersweet and I wish we could meet regularly for eternity! I highly recommend this class, even if you have been to LDS, or a mini LDS or have taken other leadership training courses. Star quality all the way!!

Fun and Informative

Jo Bonasso

Thank you for making this available! It was an enjoyable experience, I learned a lot, and it was helpful to circle back to several concepts I had seen before but filed away.

FAQ

  • What do you mean when you say a course is longitudinal?

This course is more than a collection of videos and webinars. Rather, it is a series of lessons, each of which builds on content from previous lessons. The spacing of these lessons along with the live, online discussions that occur over several months helps foster conditions for constructive introspection, reflection and sharing that maximizes participant learning and retention.

  • What if I can't attend all the live, online sessions?

Given the interactive nature of the course, when participants miss a session, it adversely impacts not only their own experience, but the experience of other participants as well. For that reason, only participants who attend the first and final session, AND at least four of the five other sessions will be eligible to request a certificate of completion and be listed on the PLEI website. **In the event the dates published for this course offering aren't a fit with your schedule, you can either a) wait a few months for another offering, or b) consider taking the "independent study" version of the course: https://plei.thinkific.com/courses/star-independent-study**

  • I attended one of your in-person workshops that included the STAR framework. How does this class differ?

In most of our classes, we touch on the Star Framework because it is the foundation of our leader-development mindset. In our STAR framework class, we will be doing a deep dive into all the points and will be studying how the various aspects of the STAR framework inform our leadership style and our work/life relationships. If you attended a recent PLEI program specifically focused on the Star Framework, our online course on The Leader's Compass may be a better fit for you. For more information on that course, visit https://plei.thinkific.com/collections/leaders-compass

  • How long will I have access to the course materials?

Individuals who register for the course will receive a downloadable workbook that is theirs to keep. Access to the course videos will be provided for 365-days from the date they formally register for the course. Continued access to the videos will be made available for individuals who become paid subscribers to PLEI's online Academy of Leader Development.
